What a week! The hottest St Mary’s Holiday Club since records began, but one jam-packed with fun, paint, glue, biscuits, sports and games, new and old friends, singing, archery, film-making, treasure hunts, finding out a bit more about ourselves and about God, and lots of laughter.
Thanks to all the young leaders and grown-ups who made it happen, and to our 72 ‘Treasure Seekers’ for making it such brilliant week.
Thursday 5th July, 7.45-9.30pm at Redbourn Village Hall.
Admission to the talk is free, and tickets for food are £7.00 and available at The Enchanted Tea Rooms, the Post Office and The Hub Café.
Come and hear Justyn Rees Larcombe tell the inspiring story of how he overcame a huge gambling addiction, helped by his faith in God.
After a highly successful career in the British Army Justyn Rees Larcombe had an equally glittering and well-rewarded career in the City. He had everything. Stunningly successful in the world of insurance, he was being fast tracked for further promotion in a global company. He had wealth, a big house, a Porsche, a Mercedes. He had a beautiful wife and three sons. He lost it all through an addiction to online gambling, blowing three quarters of a million pounds in three years.
Realising he could fall no further, he turned back to Christ, turned his back on gambling and, in the space of two years, found incredible recovery and restoration.
