The PCC

The PCC (Parochial Church Council) is the clergy, churchwardens and an elected body of lay church members who meet six times a year to discuss church matters. Elections for new PCC members take place at the APCM (Annual Parochial Church Meeting) each April, and all persons on the St Marys  Electoral Roll are invited to attend.

The PCC, has the responsibility of co-operating with the Vicar in promoting the mission of the Church in its parish. The PCC also has the responsibility for the financial affairs of the church and the care and maintenance of the church fabric and its contents. These latter responsibilities are executed by churchwardens or other volunteers. It also has a voice in the forms of service used by the church and may make representations to the bishop and deanery synod on matters affecting the welfare and pastoral care of the parish. Some members of the Church represent the PCC at the Deanery Synod.

Between the PCC meetings a Standing Committee meets to address any matters arising.
