Our custom at St Mary’s is to celebrate our Patronal Festival (our church birthday if you like) in early September with a special service and a time of food and fellowship.
Despite things being a little different, I don’t see why we shouldn’t still do that with gusto and joy! So, on 6 September we will have a single service at 11.00 am in the churchyard and our guest preacher will be Bishop John Gladwin, former Bishop of Chelmsford.
We can’t offer catering at the moment so we encourage you to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy afterwards and we’ve arranged for a wonderful string trio of amazing musicians to come and play a concert for us.
This concert will be given twice – once outside as we eat and then in the afternoon in church at 3.00pm for those who haven’t been at our earlier celebrations. Click here to read more about the concerts.
Do join us – all welcome!
