We’re very keen that, as best we can in these difficult times, we enter fully into the services of Holy Week and Easter, the most important week in the church year.
There will be Stations of the Cross and Easter Garden in the churchyard to engage with and we offer the following services online:
PALM SUNDAY – 5th April
On Palm Sunday we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem to be greeted by the crowds. We join in our homes for our 9.30 am service online including a reading of the Passion story.
MONDAY, TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK – 6th, 7th & 8th April, 8.00pm
Each night, we gather online at 8.00 pm for a devotional address from Bishop Robin to help us enter more deeply into the meaning and events of the last days of Jesus’ life, followed by the peaceful service of Compline to end the day.
MAUNDY THURSDAY – 9th April
8.00 pm EVENING SERVICE with VIGIL
Our evening service online at 8.00 pm recalls the events of the Last Supper, the washing of feet and Jesus’ gift to us of the Eucharist.
It ends with a vigil, reminding us of the Garden of Gethsemane where Christ in his Sacrament waits; and we watch and pray with him.
GOOD FRIDAY – 10th April
10.00 am ALL AGE SERVICE
Our All Age Service is suitable for everyone. We gather online to offer our songs, prayers and readings as we remember the events of the first Good Friday and Jesus going to the Cross to die for us.
2.00 pm GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
A stark and solemn service offered online at the very time when we recall Jesus hanging on the Cross.
EASTER DAY – 12th April
6.00 am DAWN VIGIL
Our Easter celebrations start at dawn with the Vigil of Readings, as we hear again the story of our salvation, filling our homes with the new light of Easter.
10.00 am EASTER DAY SERVICE
A broadcast service at 10.00 am as we join in our together online in our homes to celebrate the risen Christ.
I want to thank everyone who is working so hard at the moment to bring Church services to us at home. It’s so lovely to be able to tune and see the service and keep safe at the same time. Thank you Will and the team. Val Chapman x
