The Annual Act of Remembrance will take place on Sunday 12th November at 10.50 am at the War Memorial on South Common, and will be followed by refreshments at Christ Church, Fish Street.
Evening Service, 6.30pm
We will be exploring the history of our village war memorial, and, for the very first time thanks to extensive research by Gareth Hughes, will be reading aloud the names, all 88 of them, of men and women from the village who gave their lives as a result of the two world wars.
With the aid of a new book Mud and Barbed Wire by Mel Thompson, we will explore the manner in which conflict can bring out both the best and worst in people.
