We are delighted that our friends from Quartet Camerata will once again be performing a charity concert here at St Mary’s in aid of Emmaus Hertfordshire.
The quartet will perform Verdi’s operatic quartet, Haydn’s beautifully melodic Quartet in D (opus 76 no 5) and the sizzling Libertango by Piazzolla.
Free admission with retiring collection in aid of our Charity of the Year, Emmaus Hertfordshire. The concert will last about an hour without an interva l.
To reserve your place please phone 01582 882 159 or send an email.
Many of us will recall Tomasz, the Polish man who appeared one day and ended up living in the churchyard hedge for several months. After supporting and caring for him, we were eventually able to get him into an Emmaus community where he remains, getting the support and care he needs as he turns his life around.
In part, it is because of Tomasz that we have decided to support Emmaus as our charity for this year. There are a number of exciting events and concerts in the coming months to raise as much money as we can for this amazing charity and their work.
Will and Stephen Boffey had the privilege of visiting Emmaus in St Albans and have made a short film about their work and the approach they take.
The film is now available to watch on our YouTube channel:
Come and join us from 8.00pm on Thursday 2 June outside the Cricketer’s Pub as we enjoy a few drinks (Pimm’s, or alternatives are available) and sing some favourite, rousing hymns.
It will be the perfect way to start a four-day Jubilee Weekend and with no work the next day!
