St Mary’s Holiday Club 2022: Video of the week

Monday 25th – Friday 29th July

UPDATE: Here’s a brief video to show you what we got up to at Holiday Club this year – what a wonderful, wonderful week!

Children of primary school age are invited to join us for a week of Holiday Club fun at the beginning of the summer holidays.

Holiday Club will run from Monday 25th – Friday 29th July, 9.30am – 1.00pm each day, with a launch service at 11.00am on Sunday 24th July.

Our theme is ‘Wonder Zone’, encouraging children to explore the wonders of the world, and discovering the God behind all of it.  We will experience the fun of discovery, explore the wonders of the universe, investigate light and colour, be awed by the diversity of the natural world and encounter robots and artificial intelligence.  Each day children will rotate in their groups between sports and outdoor games, the craft tent, thinking sessions and some fun one-off activities.

This is open to children currently in Reception through to Year 6.  The cost is £45 per child, with a sibling discount for more than one child of £40.  If your child would like to attend but the cost will be prohibitive please let us know – your request will be treated confidentially.

Children will need a packed lunch each day, sensible footwear and clothes suitable for the weather.

Sorry, registrations for Holiday Club are now closed.

If you have any queries about Holiday Club please contact Ailsa, or any problems with the online forms or payment please contact Kate.

We hope you can join us for a fun-filled week!

Our last Holiday Club in 2019:

Junior Choir Cake Sale: This Sunday!

Our brilliant Junior Choristers have decided to hold a cake sale this coming Sunday 12th June in aid of our Charity of the Year, Emmaus Hertfordshire.

They are busy baking a vast array of cakes, cookies and brownies, so do come along to support them and stock up on delicious treats for a very good cause!

This will be held outside on the church drive after the 9.30am service. Payment will be by cash or contactless card.

Jubilee Service to be held inside church

Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow (Sunday) morning, the 9.30am service will be held inside the church.

This will be a very special and memorable day for us and our village as we celebrate the 70-year reign of our monarch.

We begin at St Mary’s with our services at 8am and 9.30am during which special prayers for the Queen will be offered. We then head up to the north part of the Common for the Big Jubilee Picnic from 11 am onwards.

Come in crowns and regal attire or in 1950s dress – the choice is yours – and set up your picnic spot on the grass with friends and family. The Big Picnic is STILL ON despite the weather forecast – bring your waterproofs, umbrellas, and gazebos/pop up shelters (please keep these to the outer edges of the Common).

There will be a special parade at noon from Cumberland House along the avenue with prizes for the best costumes. Then to accompany your own picnic lunch we enjoy live music, a pop-up bar and café van for drinks, fairground rides and family games, cream teas and a community sing-along.

Admission is free so bring you family and friends for what will be a brilliant day of celebrations, entertainment and fun.
