Christmas ‘Lights of Love’

St Mary’s will once again light up the magnificent fir tree, which stands in our Garden of Rest, throughout the Festive Season.  Christmas can be a time when we’re all too aware of our bereavements and those we miss.

On Sunday 11th December, 6.30 pm  we will offer reflective service as a chance to remember in prayer those we love but see no longer, those we’ll miss at Christmas. At the end of the service we will process outside and light up our Lights of Love, festooned in a churchyard fir tree.  The lights will stay switched on from the service throughout the Christmas period.
If you would like to sponsor a light in memory of a loved one, forms can be found in the church, just inside the main door.  £5.00 is the suggested minimum donation.

Advent Candlelit Carol Service: Sunday 27th November, 6.30 pm

Sunday 27th November, 6.30pm

Our Advent Carol Service offers a lovely way to mark the start of this period of spiritual preparation, as we ready ourselves to celebrate the great feast of Christmas.

Through a sequence of bible readings, beautiful music from our choir, and advent hymns for all to sing, we will hear again the story of God’s people eagerly awaiting the coming of Jesus.

After the service, mulled wine will be served in the Transept – do join us.

Time & Talents Fair

The Time & Talents Fair held after this morning’s 9.30am service was a wonderful display of the many and various ways in which members of the St Mary’s community volunteer their time and talents.

The fair was both a showcase for the many activities, groups and services which are on offer, but also an opportunity for us all to get involved and consider how we might be able to offer our own time and talents to one or more of these areas.
