This coming Sunday (May 19th) is the day we remember Pentecost, the birthday of the church.
At St Mary’s we will be celebrating by having one service at 11.00am (no 8.00am or 9.30am services) to which all are invited. We will also be saying a great big thank you to one another for all the we do and give to reflect the love and grace given to each and every one of us by God.
Bring a picnic and your chosen drinks and we will join together after church to eat, chat and celebrate.
Spend some time wandering around our new labyrinth and watch our new bees as they settle into their new home at the far end of the churchyard.
Finally we will also be having a plant sale to raise funds for our charity of the year, Every Drop Counts. Part of our aim is to help raise money to provide drought resistant crops to the people living in the dry corridor of Nicaragua, and to inspire us we challenged the congregation to grow plants from seed to then bring and sell to raise money. It’s been a thought provoking challenge due to the entirely opposite weather conditions we’ve experienced from those we a trying to help.
So bring your plants, pounds and picnic as we celebrate Pentecost and support one another and the people of Nicaragua.
