£10,500 raised for 2017 Charity of the Year, Open Doors UK

We are delighted to announce that a total of £10,500 was raised in 2017 to support our Charity of the Year, Open Doors UK, serving persecuted Christians throughout the world.

Highlights of the year have included the wonderful concert given by Julie & David Beaman and friends from the BBC Concert Orchestra, another successful Harvest Supper and Quiz, the sponsored reading of the gospels by the Gospellers, and the memorable ‘Beer and Carols’ at the Cricketers.

And of course our support of Open Doors wasn’t just about money – a cycle of prayer for countries in Open Doors’ ‘World Watch List’ has continued through the year, with the ‘Bells for Peace’ initiative focussing a week of prayer on 50 countries where it is most difficult to live as a Christian with 50 tolls of the church bell each day.

Will and Tim both made visits to countries in the World Watch list, and gave insightful talks on their experiences and the challenges facing Christians in those countries on their return.

Thank you all so much for your support, and watch this space for details of our Charity of the Year for 2018.
